Peter Dalgleish

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Peter is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who specializes in working with adult individuals and couples. His areas of focus are working with clients presenting with difficulty finding motivation, anxiety, depression, skills development, substance use, and interpersonal difficulties. Peter’s varied experience in the field of mental health gives him a unique insight into how therapy can be conducted from different theoretical perspectives. He obtained his master’s degree from Edgewood College, and he received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Peter’s conversational and collaborative approach allows him to connect with clients from all walks of life who are presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns. By utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, and other strengths-based approaches, he is able to encourage clients to recognize their inherent ability to grow and overcome their current presenting problems. His eclectic, client-centered approach is evident in his ability to create a judgment-free environment where clients can explore feelings of hopelessness, loss, anxiety, and other difficult emotions while also learning effective strategies for change. While Peter is diligent in helping clients grapple with their day-to-day challenges, he is also passionate about uncovering the deeper constraints that underlie the immediate difficulties his clients face. Therapy can be a stressful undertaking and Peter’s sense of humor and spirited outlook is a welcomed reprieve for those who come to see him.

When he is not conducting therapy, Peter enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle by playing volleyball and basketball or going to the gym. As a self-described extrovert, he loves meeting up with friends and spending time with his family to recharge.
